In this contemporary interior design project I demonstrate that circulation zones in a home are not merely a necessity but a full-fledged opportunity to create a unique, aesthetic experience. This corridor has been treated like an art gallery, intended to lead residents and guests deeper into the house in a way that engages the senses. The concept is based on a refined combination of natural materials, such as a wall finished with noble clay plaster and a uniform, smooth microcement floor, which together create a backdrop for a carefully staged play of light and shadow.

The key element shaping the perspective is a bold, black LED linear lighting recessed into the ceiling plane. This dynamic, graphic accent not only provides contemporary illumination but, above all, acts as a visual axis that optically lengthens the space and gives it an almost cinematic character. The rhythm of the passage is subtly accentuated by discreet wall sconces that cast soft shafts of light, beautifully highlighting the unique texture of the clay-plastered wall.

The strength of this project lies in the deliberate dialogue of contrasting materials. On one hand there is a warm-to-the-eye, matte wall whose irregular surface, characteristic of clay plaster, beautifully absorbs light and introduces an organic calm to the interior. Opposing it is a smooth, bespoke built-in cabinetry that reflects light and adds elegance to the composition. The whole rests on a seamless microcement floor, whose raw, minimalist character perfectly unifies the space and provides an ideal base for the other elements.

This realization is an excellent example of how a thoughtfully designed corridor can elevate the stature of an entire architectural project. It is a space that is not only functional but also rich in sensory experience and visually intriguing at every turn. If you are looking for an interior architect for whom every square meter of a home matters and has the potential to create something exceptional, I invite you to collaborate. Together we can create a coherent and beautiful home that delights from the very threshold.
